Lake Crawford, Kings Mountain State Park| 7-Mar-2009 | Dan Davis, meet director.

As Meet Director, I was asked a lot of questions during the Lake Crawford Meet. But by far, the best was: “How many senior citizens does it take to run a Meet like this?

My answer: “All I can find.”

As always, a lot of the club members stepped forward to help bring this meet off and not all were seniors but the majority of members that helped put out and take in the controls, run registration, starts, etc. fell into the senior category. So, thank you Jeannette, Sylvia, Dick, Don, Howell, Al, and John. Of course there were some of the younger group, so thanks to Walter for putting the new trail on the map, Bill for running the computer,  David for instruction. If I failed to mention anyone, well, blame it on senior memory, but thanks much anyway. By the way, if you are a senior looking for something to do next season, let me know. I'll need all I can get for next year.

It was a little too warm for serious running in the woods but a clear, dry day is hard to beat and the woods were still very open. I had built some traps into the courses with parallel error possibilities, long legs covering hard to read terrain, etc. but most were able to see through my tricky ways and turn in some respectable times. Check out the results below.
