  Running the Greenway

Anne Springs Close Greenway | 7-Jun-2008 | David Alexander, meet director.

It was the first meet on a new map. As usual, Josef Trzicky did an excellent job mapping the area. The Anne Springs Close Greenway, Field Trials Barn area is a mix of open fields and hardwood creeks and reentrants. This area was recently utilized for farming so the woods are fairly green, but the dense trail and dirt road network makes travel easy from one area of the park to another. The wide variety of terrain and features makes this park very good for beginning and intermediate orienteerers. The day was very hot for running but the turnout was fairly good. The facilities at the barn were excellent and will be appreciated next winter when the orienteering conditions will be much better. Thanks to Pam and Michelle Smith for registration and time keeping.

See you next season.
David Alexander
