  Chillin’ at Piedmont

So far this season, at all of our meets we had enjoyed warm, sunny weather. Well, our luck ran out December 15th for the Piedmont Environmental Center meet. Although we really needed the rain, we could have done without the cold and the wind. With the temperatures in the upper 30s and a light mist in the air, it seamed like it was about to start snowing. We still had a good turn out with 3 JROTC groups, a large group from St. Marks Church and several Red runners from BOK along with some of the COK regulars.

As usual, Joseph Trzicky set fun and challenging courses. The park is relatively small so the controls were close together. This meant there were no “long legs”. This keeps the excitement level high as you are finding and punching controls every couple of minutes. Joseph still managed to squeeze in a 5.0 km Red course with 21 controls.
