  Meet Director’s Reporting Document

Meet Directors, I've made a blank form for you to use when reporting your meet results to the COK website. "NewResults.doc" is a Microsoft Word 97 document, and has tables all set up for the results. Sending your results this way will make it easier for me and will allow the numbers to appear on our site faster.

Download NewResults.doc

Click on the link above to download the file. You might have to right-click, depending on your browser. Open it in Word. These instructions are included in the document for easy referral.

After you fill in all the numbers, save this document on your computer with a name of your own (select "File", then "Save As"). A good name might have the location and the month in it, for example, “Reedy Creek Apr 2010.doc”. Remember the new name and where you saved it, i.e., which folder it's in. Exit from Word.

Then send me an email with the saved file included as an attachment. That's it! Next time you run a meet, download this document again and start afresh. It might be updated.

Result Codes

DNF - Did Not Finish. The orienteer did not complete the course. They may have gotten lost, tired, or injured, or they may not have found one or more of the controls.

MSP – Mispunch. The orienteer punched an incorrect control. This happens when someone punches a control without checking the control code.

OVT – Overtime. The orienteer took more than allowed hours to complete the course. Three hours is the maximum time allowed to run a course under orienteering rules. (We also use this if the person goes beyond our mandatory three o’clock cutoff.)

DSQ – It’s the generic “Disqualified”. It means that the competitor violated an orienteering rule, such as:  taking controls out of order, running through an out-of-bounds area, getting help from others (we’re very liberal with beginners), or using an illegal navigational aid.
